In 1945, Irvine "Irv" Robbins opened Snowbird Ice Cream in Glendale and then his brother-in-law, Burton "Burt" Baskin also opened an ice cream shop. Later, they joined together as Baskin-Robbins in 1953. This company is well known for 31 flavors, and now the flavors are increased and availability is varied by location.
