About : Pongal is also known as Thai Pongal, is a multi-day Hindu harvest festival of South India. Pongal is also the name of a sweetened dish that is rice boiled with lentils that are ritually consumed on this day. This festival is carried for 3 days that is "Tai Pongal" day where rice is boiled along with milk in a pottery pot tied with a turmeric plant on clay stoves outside of the house. "Mattu Pongal" is dedicated to the worship of cows. The third day of Pongal is known as Kaanum Pongal which is celebrated by offering the Sakara Pongal for the sun god and we can visite many whereabouts with friends and family. Pongal festival has always been a dedication for farmers.
