About : Usually, the astronomical summer starts on June 21, on a day which is known as the summer solstice. On this day the sun reaches its most northern point in the sky at noon for the countries located along the Tropic of Cancer, thus starting the summar season for the countries in the northern Hemisphere of the earth. For the countries in Shouthern Hemisphere like Australia, the summer starts during December, when the Sun reaches its most southern point.
